Musical Theater Dance:  "You Can't Stop the Beat"

American Musical Theater dance often fuses jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance styles to tell a larger-than-life story.  In this beginner/intermediate class we will learn high-energy choreography to "You Can't Stop the Beat" from the Broadway musical Hairspray.  This song celebrates the beauty of being different, loud, and proud.  Some dance experience is helpful but not necessary. 

Bio:

Anthony Abdallah is a former musical theater actor turned nurse who thinks every day should be a musical.  He believes dance is a form of somatic healing and a source of joy often untapped.  He is excited to bring his nerdy love for musical theater to the Hustle and Flow family.
